District 2

The Elk Grove Unified School District is the 5th largest school district in the state of California.

EGSD includes suburban and rural communities in the City of Elk Grove, parts of south Sacramento and Rancho Cordova, the communities of Franklin, Wilton, and Rancho Murrieta, and a large amount of the southern unincorporated area of Sacramento County. The district is home to more than 65,000 students, 2,500 teachers, and 3,500 staff members.

Trustee Michael Vargas represents Trustee Area 2.

Trustee Area 2 covers Elk Grove High School and Monterey Trail High School and the surrounding area. TA2 also includes the Jessie Baker alternative school, which provides individualized education to high-needs students with disabilities.
