Welcome!

My name is Michael Vargas, and it is my tremendous honor to represent Area 2 on the Elk Grove USD Board of Education.

In the past 3 years, we have done incredible work to provide a high-quality education to the 64,000 students who attend an EGUSD schools. But there is always more to do!

I’m running for re-election to continue that work. If I’m re-elected, I will continue to focus on:

  • helping every student achieve academic excellence,

  • increasing college and careers readiness,

  • expanding educational opportunities for all students,

  • recruiting and retaining the best teachers and staff, and

  • ensuring responsible governance and fiscal management.

Together we can ensure that every student has access to a high quality education in every classroom every day.
